PSALV was set up as a charity, after running as a support group, since 1998, due to the need for information, and very low profile of the skin/joint condition, psoriasis, in Scotland.
There was no dedicated Scots based charity before this-although 2 in 100 have this debilitating condition, there is much ignorance, and misunderstanding-non sufferers may think its infectious, and make ignorant and hurtful remarks.
We are all volunteers, with psoriasis/and or Psa.-we need input from others!

Firstly-join PSALV
Membership is £12 per anum, £9concession, It ALL goes to fund our work - we don`t get paid seminars alone cost a few hundred to set up, we have our phone, website, info leaflets, postage, stationery etc. to pay for seminars and newsletters are free to members. we provide free info to enquirers.
FUNDRAISE
even placing a collecting box in your local pub/shop/post office Put up posters, give out fliers.
Help us campaign
Tell others what it is-a defect of the skin layers which grow too fast-7 times-and never infectious!
If we all work together we can make the general public (and doctors!) more aware of how much misery Psoriasis and p.a can cause. we work all over Scotland, as a national charity, and run two seminars per year, open to all.
If you would like to join us you will receive regular newsletters and information on these debilitating conditions and also access to lectures and talks in Scottish cities from doctors and other professionals dealing with these conditions.
